Peaksaver

Save Money, Help the Environment, Sign up for Peaksaver!

Joining the peaksaver program means you can help reduce the demand for electricity in your community, and you'll feel great knowing you're doing something good for the environment! To be eligible you must be a homeowner of a single-family home with a central cooling system. We'll do all the work at no expense to you. In fact, you'll even receive a FREE programmable thermostat and $25 just for signing up!

What you should know:

When you register we'll install a device that allows us to send a wireless signal to cycle down your air conditioner. We'll never turn off your A/C - only cycle it down, meaning that the temperature will only ever raise a few degrees. 

We'll never cycle down your A/C on the weekend or on a Holiday. If we do have to cycle down your A/C it will be on a weekday any time between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The maximum amount of time the A/C can be cycled down is 4 hours/day

Power Savings Blitz

Get up to $1,000 worth of energy-efficient lighting for your business FREE!

The Power Savings Blitz provides qualifying small businesses with free* energy-efficient lighting improvements of up to $1,000 (including installation) with the aim of helping businesses become more energy efficient. Quick and easy lighting improvements though the Power Savings Blitz ensures your energy efficiency goes up and your electricity costs go down.

On a larger scale, using less electricity helps the environment which benefits everyone. Your participation in this program sends a message about how your business is supporting a cleaner environment – for your customers, your community and Ontario as a whole.

ERIP

The OPA appreciates that when a business is making choices between different equipment options the desired choice is usually for the most efficient solution; however, financing, timing, and other factors can lead to different equipment being installed.

The ERIP has been designed to influence customers' decisions in favour of the most electricity efficient upgrades. It focuses on the areas of lighting, motors, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and the overall electricity systems, as these areas cover the majority of electricity upgrades that businesses engage in today.

MicroFIT

If you are a homeowner, farmer or small business owner, you have the opportunity to develop a very small or “micro” renewable electricity generation project (10 kilowatts or less in size) on your property. Under the microFIT Program, you will be paid a guaranteed price for all the electricity your project produces for at least 20 years.
